A VISION BASED ON COOPERATION!

Our mission is to bring together business owners and, alongside them, create economic and social development for all. We assist in their establishment and promotion so that they can contribute, through their presence and their services, to revitalizing the commercial arteries of downtown Gatineau.

Vision Centre-Ville also collaborates with co-operatives, non-profit organizations and public institutions of the region.

We believe in a concerted approach to take advantage of the strengths of the entire network.

OUR MISSION AND OUR VISION

Vision Centre-Ville de Gatineau (VCV) is a collective of merchants, business people and professionals founded in 1997. VCV and its members work collectively for the economic and commercial development of downtown Gatineau through various initiatives involving enhancement, promotion and animation by focusing on the creation of partnerships with a plurality of actors in the field. VCV is the City of Gatineau’s main interlocutor for revitalization challenges in the downtown area.

HELPING OUR ECONOMIC AMBASSADORS

Since the economy is the backbone of a healthy community, our merchants become ambassadors of the neighborhood, vital players in our city and region, builders of cultural and economic life. VCV ensures this by providing them with the tools they need to shine on a daily basis and to make a difference in the lives of downtown residents.

OUR 3 AREAS OF INTERVENTION:

INCREASING MERCHANTS’ IMPACT WITH DECISION-MAKING BODIES

Vision Centre-Ville de Gatineau is a key contact with the City of Gatineau and government authorities. The organization is increasing its agency (widening its outreach / advancing its representations) so that its members can benefit from the positive impact of policies, programs or subsidies affecting the downtown area.

DEVELOP COMMON STRATEGIES TO BRING PEOPLE BACK TO THE DOWNTOWN CORE

This is where strength in numbers shine from a creative standpoint! Whether through local or regional marketing campaigns, the production of promotional material, or through short-, medium- and long-term strategic planning, our brainstorming sessions lead to solutions aimed at (re)populating the city center!

PROMOTE MUTUAL ASSISTANCE AND COOPERATION AMONG MEMBERS BY BEING A RELIABLE SOURCE OF INFORMATION.

They say everyone knows each other in a small village. Well, Vision Centre-Ville believes in this dynamic! This is why its antenna is always wired to collect relevant information on activities and developments in the neighborhood and relay it to its members.

For example, as soon as we hear rumors about structural projects, such as a downtown grocery store, it is obvious that all the lights come on! Vision Centre-Ville and its partners thrive on these projects and spare no effort to make them happen.
